  20. I was noticing that after I re-partitioned my drive, and went to
  21. try to set up a drive for a Bridgeboard installation, I was supposed to set up
  22. the drive partition for the BB and set the "DOSTYPE" to a particular number.
  23. When I did this, the file system name field defaulted to "L:FastFileSystem".
  24. I could only figure that "FastFileSystem" is either:
  25.  
  26.     A.  _Supposed_ to be STORED IN the L: directory
  27.     B.  _Supposed_ to be WRITTEN TO the L: directory
  28.  
  29. Which is it?

  31. I looked in the L: directory and couldn't find a file called "FastFileSystem"
  32. so I assumed that it was supposed to WRITE the file to the L: directory, but
  33. was told by the software that it could not OPEN "L:FastFileSystem".

  35. I'm really confused.

  37. And, I'm still getting checksum errors and the like on a DIFFERENT drive now
  38. too!  Is it possible the new WDCxxxx-08 chip I installed few weeks ago could
  39. be/go bad and cause this kind of thing?
